Let’s get you started straight away. Follow three simple steps:
Congratulations — you’re now officially a Member, welcome to the Circular Marketplace Family!
Circular Marketplace Tip:If you want to list your items for lending, you need to provide your banking details on your dashboard, so you get paid for the things you are renting.
Circular Marketplace Tip: If you want to rent, then you need to get verified. You will be prompted to enter your full name, license number and type, address and phone number, and add the code you receive via text when you select an item to rent.
When choosing a name, try to choose something that will match what potential borrowers might search for.
Describe the specifications and usage of your item as accurately as possible. A good description means less enquiry questions and more rentals. Be honest, clear and concise.
Select a relevant category for the item. If you can’t find what you are looking for, then select the closest category that suits your item.
Select your closest location, this should be the same as your location in your Profile Settings.
We have provided this functionality to give you time in between rentals, so you can clean or service the item if required. Set the duration which suits you.
You can set a daily rate and apply percentage discount for weekly rent. What you charge is up to you, but competitive prices often mean a higher overall rental income.
You can either select Pick Up/Drop Off so the Borrower is responsible for making the Pick Up/Drop Off for the listing. You can also select Delivery Available option, which means you can provide details of delivery cost.
Circular Marketplace Tip: You can select both options, and you also get to keep the full amount you make from the delivery option, this is paid in cash by the Borrower.
Select either Excellent or Average for the listing.
Circular Marketplace Tip: If the item is in near new condition then its Excellent. If the item has been owned for more than one year or has minor wear and tear, but is fully functional then its Average.
This section forms part of the Pre-Inspection, so be honest when you describe the condition of the item. Mention any scratches, blemishes or imperfections and the functionality of your listing.
Circular Marketplace Tip: Be transparent and honest. These details need to be reflected when you upload images so the Borrower has a clear indication of the condition.
This section allows you as the Owner to mention any safety requirements the Borrower needs to be across while operating or using the item.
Circular Marketplace Tip: If the Borrower requires safety equipment to use the item, then mention this in this section. Also be clear whether its available as part of the rental or not.
Be creative and take some awesome snaps of your item in action! Take snaps which clearly reflects the condition summary so there are no surprises when it comes to exchanging the item for rental.
To help you stand out from the rest, and really enjoy your experience on Circular Marketplace. Follow the below tips so your listings are popular and you make some serious coin:
The clearer the snaps, the more rentals you get - it’s as simple as that! We all like seeing what we are borrowing, so upload clear images of the item.
Set a competitive price for your listings. We suggest 10-15% of the retail price for a daily rental. But for more than a day, then set an attractive discount to lure rentals for longer durations. It’s simple math – reasonable prices often equals to higher rentals and longer durations. This means more money for you!
Be clear in your description of the item, so Borrowers know exactly what they are up for. An accurate description means you will get less enquiries and more rental requests. Describe the specifications, compatibility and condition of your item as accurately as possible.
We encourage you to upload a photo of yourself! Add a short bio so other Members can get to know you. Circular Marketplace is a community of like-minded people just like you, and is built of trust. Uploading a profile picture means you are likely to get more rentals than a profile which doesn’t have a picture.
If you are super keen to make some money, then be super keen to reply and approve requests. When you get a message or a request, get back to them as soon as you can, you build early rapport. Also, a super responsive Owner means repeat business, great feedback and referrals to other users.
